We developed this blog to share our favorite, healthy family recipes with our friends and family. For the most part, we eat plain, simple foods that taste good and are good for you, as well.
Although for many years, we ate a standard diet of lean meats, vegetables, fruits, and whole grains, in August 2011 we started following Dr. Joel Fuhrman's Eat to Live diet. As a result of that change, we have experienced dramatic health improvements and some weight loss. Now, we recommend his way of eating to everyone we know because it's just plain common sense to eat as many healthy fruits and vegetables as possible. No gimmicks, no dieting, no hunger, just food in its natural state.
Although we do not eat many animal products, we are not completely vegan. Instead, we strive to a diet of mostly whole plant foods, with our emphasis on the "big five" (fruits, vegetables, nuts & seeds, beans & lentils, and whole grains)
